Carbon Monoxide By The Numbers

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a highly toxic gas, produced by fuel-burning devices. Carbon monoxide can’t be seen, smelled, or heard, but can be extremely dangerous to humans. Every year, it causes hospitalizations, emergency room visits, and deaths.

These are entirely preventable.

Our 2025 Accomplishments
& Our 2026 Goals

In 2025, we made meaningful strides to protect families, raise awareness, and support survivors of carbon monoxide poisoning. These accomplishments are only the beginning.

As we look ahead to 2026, our goals are ambitious, but with your continued support, they are within reach. Together, we can create safer and healthier communities across the nation.

Every donation to NCOAA directly fuels our mission to save lives from the silent killer: carbon monoxide. Your support powers programs that provide life-saving CO alarms to families who otherwise couldn’t afford them, care kits for survivors rebuilding their lives, and national awareness campaigns that educate communities about prevention and early detection. With your help, we train first responders, advocate for stronger safety standards, and bring vital resources to the people most at risk. A single contribution has the power to ripple outward. It would protect households, strengthen communities, and move us closer to a future where no one has to suffer from preventable CO poisoning.
